I have lost so much,

and I will lose so much more,

yet hope is not lost.

Bells ring around me.

This morning's light rises new.

Life and hope remain.

I close out this year

and begin with hope, to love

both God and myself.

I regret having

lavished love on one who crushed

my then open heart.

Nervous. Unstable.

That is how I'm around you,

when your eyes meet mine.

Though my light is small,

in the midst of this Darkness

it guides me onward.

I sink all my ships

to force myself to my fate.

Fearful, yet with hope.
